OHIP

As of November 1st, 2004, OHIP no longer funds eye exams for healthy patients between the ages of 20-64. During an eye exam, the doctor may find certain vision problems allowing them to bill your eye exam to OHIP. For this reason, it is recommended that everyone bring their OHIP card to their exam.

Children up to age 19 and seniors over 65 are covered by OHIP for yearly exams. In order to be covered by OHIP, the patient’s last exam has to be greater than 1 year from your appointment date. Most follow-ups for children and seniors are covered by OHIP. The staff at Thornhill Eye care can easily determine if your exam is eligible through OHIP.
